Broker in Charge

Michael Morrison

Michael Morrison is the founder and Broker-in-Charge of Superior Capital Advisors, a commercial real estate advisory and techonology company based in Columbia, SC. The company offers advisorys services and is a leader in self storage brokerage. He is licensed in several states and supports investors across the United States. He is a member of the Central Carolina Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of Realtor and has served on the South Carolina and Georgia Self Storage Association board.

Michael has been specializing in representing owners and investors of self-storage for over a decade and has sold 100’s of millions worth of self storage facilities during that time. Michael has worked with individual owner operators, private investors, developers, private REITs, private equity, high-net worth family offices, and U.S.-based publicly traded REITs

Michael is a native of South Carolina, growing up in Blythewood, South Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina. He currently owns five self storage facilities, mainly through development, which enhances his knowledge and understanding of the self storage industry.

Thomas Murphy

Thomas Murphy is a real estate professional based in South Carolina with a strong background in both development and investment sales. After attending the University of South Carolina, Thomas started his career as a Development Analyst at Mt. Vernon Capital Partners, where he gained valuable experience in understanding the real estate development process. 

He then moved to Midcoast Properties as an Investment Sales Broker, where he successfully handled property transactions and learned more about market trends, investment strategies, and client needs.

Now at Superior Capital Advisors, Thomas is excited to use his experience to help clients find great investment opportunities, navigate complex deals, and grow their portfolios through smart acquisitions and sales. He currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina.

Matt Porter

Matt Porter brings a proven track record and deep market expertise to his role as an investment broker at Superior Capital Advisors, covering Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas,  Alabama and Louisiana, where he leverages the firm’s systematic, results-driven approach to deliver exceptional outcomes for his clients. With more than five years of focused experience in the self-storage sector, Matt has successfully brokered 42 transactions totaling over 1.2 million net rentable square feet, providing tailored advisory services to owner-operators and investors across the Southeast.

Matt began his real estate career as an intern with Randall Commercial Group in Oxford, Mississippi, before expanding his experience in Memphis with the largest single-family rental operator in the Southern U.S. There, he managed investment valuations and oversaw property renovations, helping to optimize portfolio performance. In 2019, he joined Marcus & Millichap, where he refined his specialization in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of self-storage assets.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Matt holds degrees in Banking & Finance, Managerial Finance, and Real Estate. Originally from Madison, Mississippi, he maintains a strong presence in Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama—markets where his insight and local expertise drive strategic value for his clients.

When he’s not advising clients, Matt is an avid golfer who enjoys spending time on the course.

Wendy Hinz

Wendy Hinz brings nearly three decades of experience as a high school math educator, where she was known for her analytical thinking, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to student success. Her ability to break down complex concepts and build strong, collaborative relationships has left a meaningful impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues.

Wendy has seamlessly transitioned into her role at Superior Capital Advisors, Wendy leverages her mathematics background and precision-oriented mindset in support of the firm’s financial analysis and marketing efforts. Her experience as an administrative coordinator also makes her a valuable asset in preparing presentation materials, coordinating due diligence, and assisting with closings.

Originally from Greenwood, South Carolina, Wendy has called the Lexington, SC home for the past three years. In her free time, Wendy enjoys walking, staying active, and spending time with her husband and children.
